The regular meeting of the Technical Committee was hosted by the partner hotel of Zalakaros Spa, the Hunguest Hotel Freya***. Leaders and technical experts from the members of the Bathing Association were represented at the event, where they gave presentations on the latest trends and technical solutions affecting the industry, and also exchanged professional ideas during the conference. The conference was coordinated by J\u00f3zsef L\u0151rincz, Chairman of the Technical Committee and Chief Engineer of Eger Thermal Ltd. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tibor Vojtk\u00f3, Director of S\u00e1rv\u00e1r Spa and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Hungarian Spa Association, highlighted the importance of the partnership between the two spas in his welcome speech, and pointed out that a unique, exemplary strategic cooperation was recently concluded between the S\u00e1rv\u00e1r and Zalakaros spas, which will be joined by B\u00fck in the near future. At the opening ceremony, the host of the event, L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Czir\u00e1ki, CEO of Zalakaros Spa, welcomed the guests. L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Czir\u00e1ki said that since 1992, when the Hungarian Bathing Association was founded, Zalakaros Spa has played a prominent role in the organisation's structure and operation, and as one of the five founding members it has been a key player in the association to this day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The main topics of the current commission meeting were the transfer of technical, design and operational experience, and energy consultation. In a special presentation, Mih\u00e1ly Krampek, the former CEO of Zalakaros Spa, shared his experiences from an international scientific seminar in Vietnam, where he spoke on the exploitation of thermal water on behalf of the Hungarian Spa Association. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Czir\u00e1ki gave a presentation summary of the current and upcoming developments and investments at the Zalakaros Spa, followed by an on-site presentation at the facility. He pointed out that at the end of 2018, the complete renovation of the building of the health centre, built in 1992, started, in the framework of which the mechanical and electrical systems will be renewed and the building will also receive a new roof structure. The CEO said that the cladding works are currently underway and the renovated part of the building will soon be handed over to the guests. The spa garden will be opened as early as Easter (18 April) and the indoor pool area will be completed by 30 June, so that the entire complex will be ready for guests by the peak summer season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The other development project will be the construction of a sauna world, which started in March 2019 and is expected to be completed by the end of the year, with an indoor aroma sauna, Finnish sauna, steam room, spacious relaxation areas, hot and cold plunge pools, hot tub, a spacious log sauna in the courtyard and outdoor relaxation area. The construction project of the sauna world will be financed by a HUF 100 million grant awarded by the Hungarian Tourism Agency and by the company's own resources. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The renovation of the 22-room Bath Hotel, owned by the municipality, is underway, with new furnishings, bathrooms, a complete renovation of the restaurant and kitchen, IT and security upgrades, in addition to the basic infrastructure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The CEO said: at the end of last year, the strategic plan of the Zalakaros Spa was approved for seven years, including the construction of a new campsite open all year round. In the next three years, there are also plans to expand the adventure pool with indoor slides, the second phase of the Sauna World and a special rooftop pool.
