THE LIGHT HAS TURNED GREEN - THE BEACH OF THE ZALAKAROS SPA HAS OPENED

On 29 May, the day finally came, the light turned green in Zalakaros and the summer time officially started in Zalakaros Spa. The beach was ceremoniously opened by Ferenc Novák, Mayor of Zalakaros and Vivien Becker, the 2019 Queen of Kannavirág, who traditionally welcomed the first guests with champagne.

In his speech, Mayor Ferenc Novák said that today we are starting the 55th beach season at the spa. He stressed that this day also means the end of the inconveniences caused by the epidemic. They hope that the economy of the municipality can also recover by welcoming guests again to the Zalakaros Spa, which is a priority for the town. He remains optimistic about this season, as Zalakaros has always been known for its domestic guests, with 75% of our guests coming from our country, according to statistics from recent years," he said in his speech.  

Today, the beach entrance and main building on the side of Dísz Square opened, most of the 12 hectare beach pools and the family slide park were put into operation, officially opening the summer season in Zalakaros.

Taking into account the legal requirements, the spa has introduced new measures to protect guests and staff. Among other things, cashiers are separated from guests by a glass/plex wall, and the spa ensures that queues at queuing areas (e.g. cash desks, rental shops) are kept clear and that the appropriate distance between waiting staff is maintained. Hygiene standards are also taken into account, with hourly cleaning of all bathrooms and mobile hand sanitisers in several areas of the spa.
