A delegation from the Czech Republic visited Zalakaros

A delegation led by Tibor Bial, Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Budapest, arrived in Zalakaros. The members of the Senate were welcomed by the Zalakaros Town Council, headed by Mayor Ferenc Novák, at the Town Hall.

He said that the main purpose of the visit was to deepen the friendship between the two countries and to explore the potential of tourism as an outstanding economic sector, as 13 thousand Czech tourists visit the spa town every year. After the introduction, Ferenc Novák spoke about the history of the municipality, its traditions and the strength of the community and the potential of the spa. The role of Zalakaros in tourism is outstanding and of great value. Czech Ambassador Tibor Bial said:

Knowing the location and the characteristics of the town, it is understandable why Zalakaros is a popular holiday destination for Czech compatriots. It's good to see that tourism has made life bustle.

In addition to the official programmes, the members of the Senate were able to see the sights of the city and experience the power of the unique thermal waters that rise from a depth of 2,700 metres.
