The Hungarian Bathing Association held its general assembly in Zalakaros on 19 and 20 November. The two-day professional conference, attended by 200 participants, was attended by the leaders of the Hungarian spa industry. László Cziráki, CEO, considered the fact that the prestigious event was held in Zalakaros a special professional recognition and success.
On the first day of the General Assembly, the Hungarian Bathing Innovation Award 2019 was presented and the National Certification Trademarks were awarded.
László Cziráki, CEO, said that the Hungarian Bathing Innovation Award was announced by the Hungarian Bathing Association with the intention of creating a tradition, this year for the first time, based on the ESPA - European Spa Association Innovation Award.
The award was announced in four categories, with Zalakaros Spa submitting entries in two categories: one for an electronic error management software and system, which was completed this year, and the other for the design of the saltwater pool at the Spa Centre.
The latter was awarded first place in the Innovative Spa Services category. - said László Cziráki.
The CEO stressed that the Gyógycentrum was inaugurated in 1992 and has been the flagship of the facility for the past 27 years, which underwent a complete renovation this year, including the mechanical and interior design. It is here that the special saltwater pool has been created.
The winners in each category will be rewarded with HUF 1-1 million, press and marketing support, and the Hungarian Spa Association will cover the entry fee for the ESPA Innovation Awards, if they apply.
László Cziráki, CEO, also said that the strategic goal of the company and the municipality is to strengthen wine tourism, which has been developing intensively in recent years, and the season extension programme. The municipality has announced the Szőlőhegy Picnic on Martin's Day, with the participation of regional wineries. The Zalakaros Spa also joined the initiative and announced the Zalakaros Spa Wine Competition in order to strengthen wine tourism.

The results were announced and the three wines presented at the General Assembly of the Hungarian Bathing Association.
Ferenc Novák, Mayor of Zalakaros, expressed his congratulations and spoke about the role of wine in the life of the town, emphasizing his personal attachment to wine culture and stressing that the effects of medical treatments are enhanced by good wine.
