NEW YEAR'S LUNCH IN ZALAKAROS

Ferenc Novák, Mayor of the City of Zalakaros, in his New Year's greetings, emphasized that the success of a settlement is based on the quality of human relations and the cooperation of the community. It is important for groups to stick together, as this is the only way to achieve the goals set. His motto: “Let's live and relax in Zalakaros”. 

László Cziráki, CEO of Zalakaros Spa Ltd. said that Zalakaros Spa closed the year 2019 with outstanding success, similar to the successful year of 2018. The Zalakaros Spa is one of the flagships of thermal tourism in Hungary, as it has been successful in the past period in terms of attendance, popularity, developments and economic indicators. 

He reported on the successes achieved in 2019: 

• Hungarian Bathing Association Innovation Grand Prize - Innovative Bathing Services category
• Attraction of the Year Quality Award III place
• Family friendly place certificate
• Hungary's first cyclist-friendly spa
• Hungarian Bathing Association 5* rating
• European Spa Federation EuropeSpa international 5* rating

László Cziráki emphasized that 2019 was the „year of developments”, as the reconstruction of the Spa Centre and Spa Garden was completed in the summer, the renovation of the Spa Hotel was finished in September, and the new Sauna World was inaugurated in December. The CEO also spoke about the plans for 2020. He announced that 2020 will be largely determined by the „Year of Children 2020” programme, which aims to develop facilities for families with children, and to organise family discounts and programmes. 

Ferenc Ruzsics, Vice President of the General Assembly of Zala County congratulated the Mayor, the previous and the current body for the achievements of Zalakaros and hoped for similar successes in the future. He said that the pace of development of the town was admirable and thanked the people and communities for their contribution.
