The Zalakaros Spa is the flagship of thermal tourism in Hungary, and it has been a success after success in the past period, said László Cziráki, the general manager of the facility. 

In 2019, we came in 3rd place in the public vote for the Bath of the Year, then we received the Innovation Grand Prize of the Hungarian Bathing Association - in the category of Innovative Bathing Services, we were awarded the third place in the public vote of the most popular online booking system of the country for the Tourism Attraction of the Year, we received the Family Friendly Place certificate, we were the first bicycle-friendly bath in Hungary, we also received a 5-star rating from the Hungarian Bathing Association. And what we have been preparing for all year, and undoubtedly the crown of accolades: the Eurospa-Med international 5-star certificate from the European Spa Association (AESB), which Zalakaros Spa received in December 2019, officially entering the elite of European thermal tourism. - László Cziráki proudly announced at a press conference, and added that only the best spas in Hungary can boast of this certification. The quality and recognition of Hungarian spas is improving year by year, even by international standards, and Zalakaros Spa is making a significant contribution to this. 

Ferenc Novák, mayor of the city, emphasized that the key to success is quality work, innovation and good marketing. He stressed that, in addition to the city diamond marketing award, several hotels in the spa town have achieved excellent results in national competitions, public votes and professional competitions, which clearly shows that Zalakaros is on the right track. The mayor stressed that one of the biggest developments in the life of the municipality, the establishment of a spa centre, is on the horizon. The town has received HUF 1.5 billion in government support for the HUF 1.5 billion investment.
